Well, it finally happened.
“Motherhood”, while pending approval by Kirok, has reached its stages of completion. (AKA, I finished the mixing and post-production.)
Whew.
Now, you may be asking why it took me so long to produce this audiobook, when Dispatches was completed fairly quickly. Well, turns out that life decided to get in the way by forcing me to find a second job in order to continue living in Columbus. Did I mention that these projects at Merodi Media are, at the moment, unpaid?
Anyway, I will comment more on the production process once the audiobook has been formally released (as late as May, possibly), but safe to say I feel very confident with how this work came out. ‘Motherhood’ is a slightly different story-telling genre that the projects I’ve done to date, utilizing a narrator to outline the story instead of more scripted action, but I think the end result is something to be enjoyed, as well as a professional-sounding one.
What’s next for Merodi Media? Well, the next big project is the OSU Medieval and Renaissance Guild music CD, which still needs a fair amount of production before the university Renaissance Faire. After that, three more performance CDs are on deck — a ‘demo’ CD for local acting troupe Minstrelry, a second music CD for the Ren Guild, and a possible CD duplicaton run of an R5 Central project (nothing of that’s been formally announced, other than at the HJU forums, so hush-hush).
Fortunately, Merodi Media has been blessed with CD duplication equipment, including a Pioneer 1-to-3 CD/DVD Duplicator and the newest Dymo DiscPainter. Unfortunately, there’s been a snag with the duplicator, namely that it arrived without a USB connection, a vital component to producing these CDs without a master CD (the reason for the duplication hardware in the first place, to create a run of professional CDs without having to pay to go in studio to make a master recording and extras). Hopefully that can be resolved soon, or else…well, I dunno what else. It’ll be ugly and annoying. Yeah.
And then, after all of that? Original audio dramas. So, if you are/know a budding writer and would like to hear your work come to life, email me at MerodiMedia@gmail.com for more information.
More updates to come! But now? Now I go take a breather. Time for a nice, relaxing morning for once….
